Volunteer Coaches The Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic (Sports Awareness for Educating Today's Youth) is a three-hour program that meets the 'Minimum Standards for Volunteer Coaches Safety Orientation and Training Skills Programs' (N.J.A.C. 5:52) and provides partial civil immunity protection to volunteer coaches under the 'Little League Law' (2A:62A-6 et. seq.)
Coaches Certification
PTLLE will be hosting a Rutgers Safety Clinic on Tuesday February 23rd, 2010 in the Cafeteria #2 at Parsippany High School. Rutgers certification is required for any individual who will have contact with the children on the field in the PTLLE program. This applies to both managers and coaches.
The course is not sport specific and does not teach how to play or coach a particular sport. The objectives of the course include:
Legal Aspects of Coaching Psychological Aspects of Coaching General Coaching Concepts Training and Conditioning Athletes Medical/First Aid Aspects of Coaching
The class will run from 6:30 PM until 9:30 PM and you must stay for the entire class. You should plan to arrive at least 20 minutes early to complete the registration process and make payment. The cost is $30 and is payable by cash, check or money order.
Pre-Registration is required so that we can have the appropriate materials on hand. To register please contact Rob Nowicki at coaches@parsippanybaseball.com. You will receive confirmation that you are pre-registered.
Please note that once the instructor begins the class at 6:30, no one will be admitted to the class even if they pre-registered. This is Rutgers' rule, not the leagues. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS!
