Key Dates |
To apply to manage or coach (or volunteer to help during a practice) a baseball or softball team in TBall (5 yr), Our new Farm Division (6 & 7 Yr- coaches pitch), Rookies (8 yr players and coaches pitch), Minor, Majors or Juniors: the deadline to turn in your application is January 15, 2009.
For more information, contact league President (Mr.) Tracy Waffenfeld, president@parsippanybaseball.com
For Minors and Major levels: We will determine the number of managers required by the end of January 2009.
For T-ball, Farm and Rookie levels: we will make manager selections mid to late February 2009.
The main duties of the manager are to be responsible for his/her team during team practices and games. In addition, in the levels that draft players, the team manager represents the team at the draft. If selected to be a manager, you will have the opportunity to manage your own child.
We will provide training to managers at the off-season Coaches Clinics, which will run in February and March prior to the start of the season.
Managing a team is a very rewarding experience. It is a great way to be a positive influence on kids in our community during their formative years. We know there are people reading this who would like to give it a try, and the league wants to encourage those people to send in their application. Also we are lucky to have a core of experienced managers and we want to encourage those people to come back for another year. The success of the league as a positive influence on our kids ultimately will depend on our managers -- so on behalf of the kids, we urge you to apply now!
