| Having family and associated PTE Little League information in one location -- on a proprietary, secure database -- has many advantages. How the Little League provides timely information will soon change in some very positive ways. Similarly, each designated family member experiences a much smoother, streamlined process for communicating to the PTE Little League. Here's a summary of some of the features that will soon be available on the website. |

An Accurate and Current Family Profile - The idea of having to register family members only once on the PTE Little League website is obviously very appealing. But what if some part or parts of the family profile change? The website has been designed to permit the designated family member to make any changes to his or her family profile. This change can be as minor as a new email address, or as big as a new family member being added to the family profile. And any changes are immediate. You can also change family profile information anytime, any day, and from practically any place that has a PC with an Internet connection. It simply not get any easier than this!
Additionally, only the Mom, Dad, or guardian can make changes to the family profile. While some authorized sports administrators have read-only access to family profile information in order to manage the PTE Little League program, they are not be able to change any family profile information on the website. Finally, at some point in time, it may be necessary for a family's profile be removed from the database. Again, this can only be executed by the Mom, Dad, or guardian of the family. (There may be some circumstances that requires the Website Administrator to change or remove family profile information; however, this function will only be carried out upon approval of the PTE Little League President.) |

Email and Website Integration - The PTE Little League website provides league organizers the ability to communicate much better with each other and with the families of children participating in the PTE Little League. The website's database has been designed to differentiate a parent from a Board member. The website will have an Administration Facility that supports creating and generating emails to specific entities.
Here's a great example of how communications will improve: It's Friday afternoon, the day before Little League Opening Day and the weather forecast calls for heavy rain Friday night into Saturday. The Little League President accesses the Administration Facility of the website an creates an announcement (on the website) announcing Opening Day has been cancelled. Before posting the announcement, the President selects an option to send the cancellation notice to all registered families via email. The website is immediately updated to reflect the announcement, and hundreds of families are notified via email of the cancellation. In a traditional approach to website design, a Website Administrator would need to get involved in publishing information on the website, which may cause delays. The PTE Little League website has been re-designed to provide tools to those individuals in the Little League program to "get the word out fast". |
